Jordan and Scott are not the type to dream of grand weddings. They always envisioned a cozy, understated gathering for their special day at a venue with a warm and inviting vibe for their guests. Perhaps a venue that catered to Jordan and Scott’s shared passion for delectable cuisine as well… Enter Anemone Dining.
“We could not have dreamed of a more suitable and perfect wedding venue than Anemone Dining. We chose to work with chef Dany based on her impeccable reputation in the culinary scene (we are both huge foodies) as well as her eye for detail and passion for creating a beautiful space. As we all know, April can be a toss up weather wise in Halifax, so having an indoor space that would photograph well was important. The exposed brick and soft lighting in Anemone was the exact ambiance we wanted. Getting to enjoy an intimate three course meal by a talented chef on your wedding night with our immediate family was really the dream wedding night for us.”
With family at the core of this intimate affair, only their nearest and dearest were in attendance. Jordan and Scott are genuinely kind-hearted individuals, making them a pleasure to converse with — a sentiment surely echoed by all who were present.
Fortune graced them with a picture-perfect day, allowing the joy and excitement to shine even brighter. We started our day with a first look and portraits of Jordan & Scott in downtown Halifax.
What does a wedding mean to you as a couple?
When Scott and I got together, we had conversations pretty early on about whether we saw marriage in our future (as you do when you start dating in your 30’s) and we both agreed it was something we likely wanted but neither of us wanted a wedding, at least we had that in common! The idea of marriage solidifying your relationship and commitment to each other was appealing to us both, especially if children were brought into the equation, we both wanted a pretty traditional home and family life.
What advice would you give to future couples getting married?
Something we really stood by during the entire process was continually focusing on the fact that the wedding was about us, the couple getting married. Not about our family, friends, or their opinions (as much as we love them) but we wanted our wedding to be all about us and celebrating our love. Choosing a non-traditional, intimate wedding was the best choice we made.
Do you have a favourite image from your wedding?
Our favourite image really captures just how happy and blissful we were on our wedding day! it says it all.
Anemone Dining provided cozy and inviting vibes for the ceremony.
Do you have a favourite memory from the day?
I think we both agreed our favourite memory was our first look, its a pretty amazing feeling seeing each other on your wedding day knowing you’ll be going to sleep that night as husband and wife!
