Some wedding days just stay with you and this New Glasgow wedding with Brianne and Tahi is one of those days.
Two moments in particular stood out to me and really shaped how I remember this day. The first happened not long after I arrived, Brianne greeted me and said something that completely set the tone: “I love your work. Just do your thing.”
This was music to my ears! That kind of trust, on a day full of emotion and so many moving parts, can be rare. Being told to “do my thing” may seem simple but it gave me the freedom to be fully present. I was able to create images without pressure and to search for those in-between moments I love capturing most.
The second moment came later in the evening. I was quietly photographing some candid reception shots when Tahi noticed me from a nearby table. He actually paused his conversation to walk over and tell me how much he appreciated my work that day. It was another small thing that meant a lot.
Brianne and Tahi were just genuinely kind and lovely to be around and that energy was matched by everyone around them. Many of their family and friends had travelled from all over the world to be there. Hearing several stories from guests visiting Canada for the first time added another special layer to this day. It wasn’t just a wedding, it felt like a celebration and a first-time adventure all in one.
